Vynova publishes 2021 Sustainability Report

Vynova has published its annual sustainability report, covering the important progress the company has made on its sustainability journey in 2021.

The Vynova Sustainability Report focuses on the most significant sustainability indicators of the company’s activities, as well as on its commitment and efforts towards its stakeholders, with the ultimate goal to enhance its sustainability performance.

The report uses the framework set by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the world’s most widely used standards for sustainability reporting, and covers Vynova’s responsibility in the workplace, towards the environment, in the market and towards society as a whole.

In 2021, Vynova has set two major emission reduction targets as part of its Sustainability Programme: reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030 and cutting volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions by 50% by 2030, both compared to the 2020 baseline.

Other key highlights include:

- An EcoVadis Gold Rating for the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility performance, placing Vynova among the top 5 percent of all companies assessed by EcoVadis within its industry group;
- The launch of the world’s first ISCC PLUS-certified renewable caustic soda, expanding the VynoEcoSolutions range of circular, renewable and low-carbon products;
- A 3% year-on-year improvement of the energy intensity of the Vynova products, meaning less energy consumed per tonne of product produced.

“The chemical industry is a sector in full transition towards a more sustainable and circular business model. Our Sustainability Report and the actions covered in it underline our firm commitment to be an industry leader in that sustainability journey and this report serves as a catalyst for us to continue on that path,” comments Vynova President Christophe André.
