An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SHEQ Manager on our Manufacturing Site in Runcorn. This is a full time permanent position reporting to the Site Manager where the successful candidate will have responsibility for developing and managing the Runcorn Site’s SHEQ management systems, improving the capability and performance of the plants personnel and providing robust SHE systems for overhauls and major Capex projects.  

The Runcorn Vynova Asset is currently undergoing a major investment programme, with the new plant currently undergoing commissioning. This is an excellent time to join our dynamic team as there will be substantial responsibility from day 1 as you will help drive the asset through this critical period.


Responsibilities include:

  • Drive SHE performance to ensure continuous improvement so that Vynova achieves annual SHE performance objectives
  • Develop SHE policy and standards to provide leadership for implementation and delivery
  • Ensure the application of the 20 safety principles by awareness actions, by operational controls, by the management of the SHE-policy and by safety procedures
  • Develop, manage and review the annual auditing programme to ensure delivery and improvements are identified
  • Develop initiatives and training to influence site managers and all staff in delivering the short and long term SHE performance
  • Coordinate the activities within the SHE department in order to ensure efficient and effective services in line with the strategy and the quality standards of Vynova
  • Provide independent view on and lead  SHE investigations to ensure consistent approach
  • Assist Site Manager and Technical Team Manager to develop, prepare and agree the annual SHE strategy and SHE goals for the organisation
  • Liaise with VP QSHE, local SHE Managers and Group Regulatory Manager to ensure that UK relevant legislation changes are robustly managed to ensure compliance with relation to occupational health and safety
  • Manage the links with the Site Host to ensure that SHE and Security requirements of the Authorities is delivered for Vynova and that the SLA terms are delivered robustly
  • Continuously keeping in touch with evolutions and developments in the SHE field and the legal regulations within this domain, in order to increase his/her credibility by offering services that are based on up-to-date insights

Ideal Candidate:

  • Master degree with 5 years’ experience in a similar function or long term experience in a similar role
  • NEBOSH International safety qualification
  • Analysing / Influencing / Deciding
  • Clean UK Driving Licence
