An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Day Team Operator on our Manufacturing Site in Runcorn. This is a full time permanent position reporting to the Operating Manager where the successful candidate will have responsibility for supporting the site in the effective operation of the Plant.

The Day Operator will operate a number of systems to support the ongoing plant operation including the Plant induction system, Waste Management, SAP materials ordering system and SHE support tasks. 

The Runcorn Vynova Asset is currently undergoing a major investment programme, with the new plant currently undergoing commissioning. This is an excellent time to join our dynamic team as there will be substantial responsibility from day 1 as you will help drive the asset through this critical period.


Responsibilities include:

  • To ensure the waste produced on site is handles recorded and disposed of as per Site instructions.
  • Ordering of PPE and safety equipment and other key consumables to support ongoing operations.
  • Carry out loading and offloading operations and other general FLT duties to support plant operation.
  • To provide support to production and other teams across the Manufacturing asset.
  • Providing SHE support including - Carrying out Plant inductions, Carry out overhaul inductions and being part of the SHE team during events, working directly for the SHE Manager.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Shift Manager and Shift Team in the event of a Plant incident/emergency.
  • Take part in assessments to ensuring that the proposed and final designs meet the site SHE and operational requirements. 
  • Assist in the preparation and writing of operating instructions and training material for Operating and Maintenance teams on specific work packages.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Flexible and reliable
  • NVQ level 3 desirable plus 5 GCSE’s at Grade 4 (C ) and above in Maths, English and Chemistry (preferable)
  • Practical understanding of problem solving techniques
  • Plant preparation, Risk Assessment and PTW issuer capability
  • Understanding of Safe Systems of Work and their application
  • Good IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft office and Outlook
  • FLT licence (an advantage)
  • Strong SHE and Personal standards
  • Self-motivated and strong drive
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team accurately
