Are you passionate about sustainability, Life Cycle Assessment and Sustainable Process and Product Design? Are you interested in making our organization, processes and products more sustainable and reducing our environmental impact? Then we are looking for you! Within Vynova we have an outstanding new position in our sustainability team.


Position

In this function you are the expert on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) assessments and process primarily for entire Vynova product portfolio in order to support the sustainability and circularity strategy for our Vinyls business. You contribute to the realization of our strategy in topics and areas that are directly connected to sustainability. You are responsible for driving the LCA and scope 3 agenda in the organization and help us reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. 

Furthermore, you will work on projects in the fields of energy, environment and sustainability, process and product design in order to improve the environmental impact of our current and future processes and products. In the position of Life Cycle Assessment Specialist you will represent Vynova at relevant conferences and sustainability events. You train others in LCA practices in order to build organizational capabilities to offer customers options to reduce their own CO2 footprint.

Tasks:
•    You manage and lead LCA projects and scope 3 agenda in the organization; 
•    You centrally support the Business Groups and perform LCA assessments. You establish LCA methodology/tools and become the go-to-person for LCA assessments for the Vynova business;
•    You work closely with the Sales and Sales Application Support teams building organizational LCA knowledge and to reinforce Vynova as a reliable, sustainable solutions supplier towards customers helping customers achieve their own CO2 emission reduction targets;
•    Further develop the LCA expertise, tools and methodologies suitable to the organization and support in embedding sustainability analysis in our daily operations. You work with the Technology Group and the Sustainability Team focused on CO2 and energy reduction and with Operations to enable further improvements of Vynova product CO2 emissions/ environmental footprint;
•    Follow external developments in the field of LCA, regulations, standards and policies;
•    You regularly update internal LCA improvements and implications to the commercial, sustainability, technology and operations team. You recommend and obtain support for improvements and lead improvement projects internally;
•    You collaborate on initiatives and projects with peer subject matter experts at customers and other external value chain stakeholders focused on optimizing the LCA and footprint of Vynova end products;
•    You report to the Vice President Sustainability.


Profile

•    You haven an academic background in Environmental Science/Technology, Chemical Engineering or a related field;
•    You have at least 5 years of proven experience conducting and reviewing LCAs, utilizing advanced LCA tools (Gabi, SimaPro). A track record in complex LCAs for the manufacturing industry is a plus; 
•    Working experience in the fields of energy, chemistry, or climate change is a plus;
•    You are proactive with a strong self-motivation;
•    You are able to generate impact and know how to establish relationships and collaborations both in- and outside the organization;
•    You have strong analytical skills and able to train others in LCA practices;
•    You are customer oriented with good communication and problem solving skills;
•    A very good knowledge of English is necessary. Knowledge of French, German or Dutch is an additional advantage;
•    You will distribute your working time between home office and our offices in Belgium (preferably), France or The Netherlands;
•    You are willing to travel 10 to 20% within Europe.
